WHAT IS GHEE? WHAT ARE ITS BENEFITS?

Ghee, essentially clarified butter, is an Ayurvedic staple that has been prized for its flavor, nutritional and medical benefits for millennia. The clarification of the butter removes the moisture, milk solids and impurities, making it lactose and casein free as well as shelf stable.

Ayurveda recognizes it as one of the healthiest fats one can eat and helps to provide a full spectrum of short, medium and long chain fatty acids, omegas 3 and 9’s, vitamins A, D, E and K, as well as CLA (conjugated Linoleic Acid), 9 phenolic antioxidants, as well as numerous other minerals are present in ghee. 

Ghee is known as a substance that gives longevity and slows the aging process.

It has been used for centuries as a digestive and elimination aid, for energy, sexual vitality, skin and eye health, as a lubricant for the joints and for alkalizing the blood.


WHERE IS YOUR GHEE SOURCED FROM?

We source our ghee from Ancient Organics, a superior ghee on the market that still makes ghee in the traditional Ayurvedic way (It’s even infused with mantras). They source their old fashioned churned butter from grass-fed, pasture-raised organic dairy from cows raised on the rolling hills of Northern California at Straus Family Creamery.


HOW DO I USE ROYAL GHEE?

Our spreads are meant to be used in a variety of ways to compliment your daily routine and upgrade all the foods you already love and use. From making delicious and creamy tonics to simply slathering on toast, crackers and baked goods, to boosting snacks, desserts and even veggies - our goal was to make Royal Ghee versatile enough to be used in sweet to savory dishes and pairing high quality and bioavailable nutrition with delicious.

WHAT DO YOUR PRODUCTS DO?

Our line of Royal Ghees incorporate high quality herbal ingredients that are known to benefit and balance the body to boost immunity, reclaim energy and focus, cultivate glow and gently detoxify, naturally. Delicious but equally beneficial, raw and unprocessed wildflower honey and traditionally made ghee are infused with blends of targeted herbs allowing these beneficial ingredients to be incorporated into your wellness routine both with ease and flavor.


WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE FLAVORS?

Our original Royal Ghee, (the green one), is our multi-vitamin, if you will. Combining nearly 20 organic and wildcrafted superfoods, adaptogens, greens, seaweeds, algae, roots, berries and mushrooms into a delicious and earthy spread that some compare to a cake or brownie batter.

Our newest addition, Royal Ghee Gold - combines a focused and targeted blend of immunity and inflammation-reducing herbs such as turmeric, camu camu, propolis, and ashwagandha into a creamy golden spread with the flavor of a dreamy golden latte. 

Both our flavors are made from the same decadent and equally beneficial base of pastured and organic ghee, raw unprocessed honey and vitamin D and E rich tocotrienol powder.


WHAT MAKES IT BIOAVAILABLE?

The purity of ghee allows it to be deep penetrating and nourishing as it passes through the lipid membranes of cells. For this reason, the vitamins and minerals from ingredients combined or cooked in ghee will be drawn deep into the body where they impart the most benefit. The assimilation of the nutrients increases when suspended in a ghee matrix.


WHERE DO YOU SOURCE YOUR INGREDIENTS?

Our ingredients are all organic, wildcrafted, local when possible and tested for contaminants, pollutants and toxins.


CAN I USE IT TO BULLETPROOF?

Yes! We encourage it. Bulletproofing, or adding fat, usually butter, ghee or MTC coconut oil to coffee has become a trend used for various benefits such as helping to sustain energy, balance blood sugar, and reduce a caffeine crash. The addition of herbal ingredients only help to boost the nutritional value while we think it also tastes delicious. We also recommend adding it to a matcha or tea-based tonic latte and making a golden latte from our Gold flavor.


CAN I COOK WITH IT?

Because of the inclusion of all the raw and potent herbal ingredients and raw honey, we recommend Royal Ghee be melted on top of already prepared meals or in a warm tonic, but it is not intended to be used as a cooking oil/fat.


IS IT SWEET? WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE?

You know when you make a simple royal frosting from sugar and butter? Honey and Ghee make a similar flavor that has an almost caramel flavor as well. Our blends are actually made of mostly ghee, so they aren’t super sweet. The addition of various herbal ingredients adds a earthy almost umami flavor. Our original green flavor has been compared to an earthy cake or brownie batter, while our Royal Ghee gold, tastes like a tangy golden latte. Both are perfect for both sweet and savory dishes.


IS IT GLUTEN FREE?

Our commercial kitchen also prepares foods that include gluten, tree nuts and dairy.

Our original flavor includes wheat grass and barley grass, which are the same young grasses of their mature grain counterparts. Technically these young grasses should not contain any gluten in this form. While our founder has gluten allergies and tolerates and benefits from both flavors, those with severe gluten allergies or celiac may wish to avoid due to cross-contamination.

Royal Ghee Gold contains no gluten ingredients.


I HAVE A DAIRY INTOLERANCE. CAN I BENEFIT FROM ROYAL GHEE?

Many people can benefit from ghee even if they have a dairy intolerance. In the process of removing the milk solids from the butter, the casein and lactose are also removed in the process. Many times it’s these two potential allergens many people are sensitive to. It will depend how severe your reaction to dairy is.



CAN I USE ROYAL GHEE TO HELP CLEANSE?

In Ayurvedic practice, ghee is often used as a gentle detoxification aid that helps to pull toxins and heavy metals from the body, promoting digestion while gently soothing the intentional tract. Additionally ghee, may actually contribute to weight loss.

 

To use Royal Ghee as a targeted aid in detoxification, we recommend consuming a teaspoon to a tablespoon on an empty stomach in the morning dissolved into a glass of warm water, milk of choice or caffeine-free herbal tea. Allow 15-30 minutes before consuming food.

WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE?

Our products are best consumed fresh, but do have a shelf life of up to one year from packaging. Each jar is labeled with a best by date to ensure the best potency and flavor.


CAN I CONSUME YOUR PRODUCTS REGULARLY?

Yes! Our products are intended to be used daily for results that continue over time. We recommend individuals with sensitivities begin with 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon, daily and go from there. We intend for Royal Ghee to be used in recipes that require more than one serving.


ARE THEY SAFE TO CONSUME IN REPLACEMENT OF OR CONJUNCTION WITH MY MEDICATIONS?

Royal Ghee is not intended to treat, diagnose, cure or prevent any diseases.
